Wyndham Garden Hotel Dallas Partners to Provide First Responders with Hotel Rooms During Pandemic
During the pandemic North Texas First Responders put themselves at risk, and when they go home, they put their families at risk for infection of COVID-19.
The Dallas Firefighter’s Museum announced that Board President and Battalion Chief Trixie Lohrke spoke with Zach Warren the hotel manager at the Wyndam Garden Dallas North off of Stemmons Freeway about their supporting of First Responders. Zach Warren shared that the Wyndham would provide all 360 of their hotel rooms, free of charge to all First Responders during this unprecedented time.
Chief Trixie Lohrke stated that, “Providing these hotel rooms to all our first responders keeps them serving on the frontlines but allow them to reduce exposure to their families.” Firefighters, Police Officers, and Healthcare Professionals lined up to take Mr. Warren up on his generous offer after the Dallas Firefighter’s Museum posted on their social channels and through email. Currently these rooms are still being provided and there is no end date to when they will have to vacate while serving during the pandemic. Shortly after their generous offer, many other Dallas hotels stepped up and offered more rooms for our thousands of our First Responders.
Paul Clarke a Dallas Firefighter out of Station 38 in Oak Cliff was extremely grateful for this generous opportunity to have a save place to stay and keep his family away from potential infection. Paul shared, "It meant a lot to my family and I that a local business provided a safe place to quarantine. Some of my family members are high risk due to health issues and it put my mind at ease that I was able to keep them safe thanks to the Wyndham." Paul is a Marine Veteran, Dallas Firefighter, and owner of Fire Grounds Coffee Company.
We salute the service and leadership of Zach Warren and the Wyndham Garden for supporting our First Responders during this time.
